Bell Super

A Modern Trail Helmet....

The Bell Super is one of the more popular all mountain helmet offering currently on the market.  Now offered with a removable chin bar and MIPS the Super is a reasonably versatile helmet.

Fit
The super is quite broad accross the temple and will not suit people with a long narrow head.  The helmet has plently of padding and no pressure hot spots could be detected.  It is worth noting that people that only just fit into the standard issue medium may have to move up a size when buying the MIPS version.  The helmet also sits a far way down the sides and back of the head to provide as much protection as possible.  It is also worth noting that the extra weight of this helmet is noticable on the bike.

Features

GoPro's, and goggles can be used with this helmet.  It comes with a removable gopro mount however I do not own a gopro so have not tried the mount.  However, I have used the helmet many times with goggles and can report no interference issues, even with some of the larger frame goggles on the market.  The adjustable visor worked well and remained in place even on extremely rough trails.

Venting

For a trail/all mountain helmet, it does have reasonable good venting, athough its still a long way from classics like the Fox Flux.  I have used it on days 40 degrees and above and it does get a little warm.  However, for 30 and below, its great, especially with short hair.  The vents are interconnected throughout the helmet.

Protection

Helmet is currently untested in this department.
