What a day! 62km road ride in the morning with the Saturday morning Mega Bike ride finished off by an afternoon at Fox Creek. Dave, Gus, Jason, Andreas and I headed out to Fox Creek to get some filming and photos done for this blog and another project I have in the works.
Fox Creek has a wide range of trails covering everything from easy green circle (easy) trails to some pretty intense double black (crazy!) downhill runs. With the new Easy rider trail and classics such as the Green Smoothie/Middle Earth loop, Fox is a great place to ride. There are new trails going in all the time thanks to groups such as the human projectiles.

Lately they have been working on a new trail called Ballistic and anther two, Ant Logic and Dirty Little Secrets. Due to the position of the sun, we headed over to Ant Logic to do some filming and photos.

Jason hitting one of the berms heading out to Ant Logic. I wanted to take the oppertunitiy to keep practicing shooting photos on my new DSLR. It was great to be able to experiment with different settings in a wide range of lighting conditions.

The weather was awesome, although maybe a touch warm for riding in the sun. It was still pretty green up the hills.

We even found some local wildlife who were pretty chilled in their grassy patch. These lizards, called Sleepy (Shingleback) Lizards are everywhere through the Adelaide hills and beyond. Watch your strawberries in your gardens, these guys love them.

Even though he says he hates cameras, Gus always seems to be able to style it up a little. In this case, Jason is looking on while he grabs his bike and heads back up to give it a shot himself.

A room with a view. These are the same ones from before but you can now see their view. Pretty spectacular.

The reservoir here is the same one in the photo above. For the roadies out there, Gorge Rd is down in the valley and the City is off to the left. According to the latest trails plan, there will eventually be a trail that drops you down where the Torrens river exits the hills.

Dave launching it out of a corner. I need to get an external flash to light up his face a bit more.

Wow, check out these views. More trails to come out in this direction.

Jason going to fast for my shutter speed. These DSLR cameras are tricky to learn how to use them. However, Ill get there eventually.

Ah flow trail, you gotta love it. This is Ant Logic in all its glory.

Catching the excitement of mountain biking. Nothing like a close up of a bike in action.

For those of you who prefer the finer things in life there is a cafe/winery within 1 minutes ride from the top of the trails. Nothing like a cold one with ya mates after a big ride.

Andreas and the red norco. Im surprised I got him here, the bike is usually a red blur as it exits a corner at warp speed. Andreas is a pretty good rider and its great to watch his skills develop as we ride together.

The Green Machine. Dave getting wild on a jump. So wild he almost landed on me...

Bermed corner after bermed corner. Even though most of the photos so far have been of flow trails, Fox also offers some pretty technical trails. Thats for next time.

During the corner....

After the corner. Gus one, corner zero. The cloud of dust left after a rider. The woods are quiet again.
Great day for all. Especially meeting the guys from Forrestry SA and hearing what they have to say about up and coming trails, its going to be awesome. Mountain biking in Adelaide is poised to take off and will be massive in a few years time. All I can say is watch this space.
